Durban rocked by yet another taxi strike
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman & Shaun Ryan
KZN Taxi Alliance's Bafana Mhlongo says they are hopeful the MEC of Transport, Willies Mchunu will join talks currently being held between taxi operators and organisations to discuss the release of permits which operators have applied for, but have not been released which led to their vehicles being impounded.
"Our hope is one, the minister should release all those vehicles that are impounded.
"Second, we want government to issue the operating licences because its illegal on our side to operate taxi's without the legal document but it's also illegal for government to fail to issue them," said Mhlongo.
