Durban mom pleads for help to find missing daughter
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The mother of a Durban woman who's been missing for over three weeks has made a desperate appeal to the public for help.
Thembelihle Manda was last seen wearing a black chef hat and jeans on Felix Dlamini Road.
Her mother Lindy says Manda was on her way to work at a hotel in Mooi River and would usually hike there due to a lack of transport.
Manda says she received a phone call from the hotel the next day indicating that her daughter never reported at work.
"I am pleading for anyone who might assist in finding my child, my heart is aching. Thembelihle left four children, two girls and two boys., The youngest will be turning two years in July.
"I am dead as a dodo because she is the breadwinner. No one else is working. So, I don't know what I would do, because the only income I receive is from government since she left her children with me."
She says she's also requested footag from roads agency SANRAL in an effort to find out what happened to her daughter.
"I am trying with all my heart, to find help in locating my daughter's whereabouts. I have lost hope, since one of the detectives told they are not able to locate the area where my child was last seen. They say even SANRAL could not spot where she was because cameras have not been working even before the incident."
