Durban Metro police monitoring Umgeni Road
Updated | By Portia Cele
Durban metro police are out in their numbers this morning - to restore calm on Umgeni Road.

Protesters have burnt tyres and scattered debris on the route between the Durban train station and Home Affairs offices.
Spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersadh says motorists coming to Umgeni from Sandile Thusi Road - that's the old Argyle Road - need to use another route, for now.
"Metro police is responding to the scene currently and we are waiting for further feedback. However, we urge motorists to stay away from the intersections of Home Affairs and Durban station. Use alternate routes."
