Crash involving bakkies claims two lives in PMB

Two people have been killed in a horrific crash in Pietermaritzburg.
Two bakkies collided and overturned on the N3 north near the Church Street Bridge late Thursday night.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says 17 others were injured.
"Patients were found lying all over the freeway. It is believed that these vehicles had passengers on the rear of the vehicles that were ejected when the accident occurred.

"Immediately, a triage station was set up whilst a call was made for more ambulances and Advanced Life Paramedics to respond.
"A total of seventeen people were stabilised on the scene for injuries ranging from moderate to critical before being rushed by various ambulances to various Pietermaritzburg Hospitals for the urgent care that they required."
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
