Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Congress of South African Trade Unions wants the Competition Commission to probe the recent increases in the price of various products.
The trade union federation led a march in the Durban CBD on Friday over the rising cost of living.
General-secretary Bheki Ntshalintshali told Newswatch they suspect some businesses are taking advantage of the fuel price crisis in the country.

"The high prices that we have seen particularly on food suggest to us without actual information and facts whether it has been increased to the same level of the petrol price.
"In other words, are they not thump-sucking, are they not putting higher than the impact of the petrol price, we think they can make a random or somebody can determine that.
"Because we strongly believe there are people taking chances on this."
