A female police officer and another suspect have been charged with this week's murder of a northern KZN cop.

Warrant Officer Nkosinathi Ntinga was at his KwaMbonambi home with his wife and a colleague when they were attacked on Tuesday night.
Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says two gunmen tied the three up with cable ties.
"They then forced them into a vehicle of the administration clerk and fled the scene.
"They left the wife behind. Along the way, they forced out the administration clerk and proceeded with Ntinga. His body was bound next to the Msunduzi River with multiple gunshot wounds."

Mhlongo says a case was opened at KwaMbonambi Police Station before the Hawks took over the investigation.
"They searched for the vehicle, which was found in the sugar cane field, and then they ensued their investigation. On the same date of the incident, they managed to apprehend one suspect, which led to the arrest of the second suspect yesterday (Wednesday).
"They worked the entire night trying to link the suspects. They have been charged with murder and are expected to appear KwaMbonambi Magistrate’s Court."
