Concern over KZN as new Covid-19 cases top 14k

The number of new Covid-19 infections in South Africa has doubled in the latest 24-hour period up to Thursday evening.
There were 14 271 new Covid-19 infections, as confirmed by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD).
The Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal continue to account for more than half of the national number of new cases.
Both provinces are followed by Gauteng, the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Free State, North West, Limpopo and the Northern Cape respectively.

The NICD report also shows another spike in Covid-19 related deaths, with 473 new fatalities reported.
The national total of coronavirus related deaths has jumped to 76 247.
