Phoenix Child Welfare says option open to under-pressure parents
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Phoenix Child Welfare says its doors are always open to parents who are battling to cope.
It has made an appeal after a baby girl was found abandoned on a sports ground in Gandhinagar, north of Durban, last week.

The newborn was taken to the hospital, and the police opened a case of child abandonment.
The organisation's Aroon Chetty says there are safe options available for those who feel they cannot handle the pressure of parenting.
"The child welfare is here to help, come to our office. We now have a baby box, so people can go there anonymously and leave their child. The child would then be placed for adoption. We have lots of families on our list."
"We are here to help you in terms of your needs."
