Child allegedly sexually assaulted at Newlands East creche
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Residents of Newlands East have been promised swift action by the police following reports a child was sexually assaulted at creche.
The community in the northern Durban area has been up in arms since last week, calling for an arrest.
They protested at a TV townhall meeting last night that included Provincial Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi on the panel.
Anti-crime activist and eNCA Crimewatch presenter, Yusuf Abramjee, co-hosted the discussion.

He says they community demanded answers.
"They demanded that a suspect be arrested immediately the same evening and they also demanded that the creche that the child was from and where the alleged incident took place be closed immediately.
"The provincial commissioner was very emotional as the mom spoke and he assured them that the particular case will be prioritised."
