The case against a Chatsworth mother and grandmother charged with the murder of three-year-old Jamie Naidoo has been postponed to December.
Fifty-five-year-old Salatchee Basanich and her daughter, 32-year-old Patricia Ishwarlal appeared in the Chatsworth Magistrates Court.
The court also heard the funds from a 2004 Road Accident Fund claim made following an accident involving Ishwarlal have been released and will cover the costs of a second mental evaluation as well as her legal fees.
The National Prosecuting Authority Natasha Ramkisoon Kara says her mother has applied for legal aid.
"The two accused appeared in the Chatsworth Magistrates Court today. The State served an indictment on them and they will appear on December 8 at Durban High Court," she said.
