Botha's Hill double-murder: Cop suspect accused of delay tactics
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The father of one of the women shot and killed, allegedly by their cop boyfriend, has accused the officer of using delay tactics in his case.
A new magistrate will now be brought in from outside the district this week after Pinetown magistrate Gwendolyn Robinson recused herself from the case on Monday.
The accused constable Blessing Sikhakhane told the court that he'd learnt that Oscar Msomi, the father of one of the victims, Enhle Majola, works at the court.
In his recusal application Sikhakhane said that he felt that this would jeopardise his case and cause undue bias against him.

The police officer is accused of killing 18-year-old Majola and 24-year-old Sthembile Ngobese at his Botha's Hill home three weeks ago.
Speaking outside court, Majola's father said Monday's developments in the case were unfair.
"He is still in custody, that's a good thing. You can clearly see that the man is okay. He is dressed up and clean-shaven. You can almost say he is on holiday. Let's see what happens. Let's get another magistrate and have a fair playing field.
"Maybe it is a good thing that we are getting another magistrate that has no affiliation with me, and he [Sikhakhane] understands from that point that there is no bias."
