Bonginkosi Khanyile returns to court in January
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Fees Must Fall leader, Bonginkosi Khanyile, who was convicted of public violence, among other charges, will have to wait until next year to learn his fate.
In August, Khanyile was found guilty of four of the 13 counts levelled against him after his arrest during a 2016 protest at DUT.
This in accordance with an agreement with the State and after making a series of admissions that, in effect, saw him confess to the charges of public violence, being in possession of a dangerous weapon and failing to comply with a police officer's orders.
The remaining charges have since been abandoned.

The NPA's Natasha Kara says sentencing proceedings did not go ahead in the Durban Magistrate's Court yesterday.
"The matter was adjourned to January 28. This is for finalisation of the correctional services report as well as the report from the probation officer," Kara said.
