Bluff water to be restored by Tuesday

Residents on the Bluff have been told their water supply will be restored by Tuesday.

Durban residents are fuming about a water outage that affected large parts of the city related to an eThekwini municipality labour dispute that has disrupted services.

They have had to deal with an intermittent supply for over two weeks.

Councillor Zoë Solomon says load shedding affected the supply to reservoirs.

But the situation was made worse when two massive pipes burst, forcing the municipality to turn off residents' water supply.

She says engineers have been working around the clock to fix these issues.

"They are busy charging our reservoir. It is the end of another long four days with no water. There are no more leaks on the Bluff. I have a team at the reservoir who was very helpful to come and check that everything is working.

"I have been out with the water trucks and very grateful for how many water trucks have been given and very pleased to say that the City has responded to my desperation."
