ANCWL welcomes nullification of KZN election results

The National Executive Committee of the ANC Women's League has welcomed the Durban High Court's decision to nullify the elective results of their KZN conference.
The court this week ruled that the national body was correct to declare the outcomes as null and void, after it found there were voter irregularities.
The conference, held last August, elected Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza as the provincial league's chair, edging out Cooperative Governance MEC Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi for top position.
Sithole-Moloi's supporters immediately filed a complaint, claiming the voting was rigged and flagging 53 uncounted votes.
The national body nullified the election.
Khoza then approached the High Court for an interim order, calling on the NEC of the League to provide cause for the nullification.
"We call upon all members and leaders of the ANCWL in KwaZulu-Natal to prioritise the interests of the organisation and work towards fostering a spirit of inclusivity and collaboration," says National Women's League Deputy Secretary-General Dina Pule.
"It is imperative for the ANCWL in KZN to focus on its core mandate of advocating for the rights and well-being of women, both within the organisation and in society at large. More especially as we head towards the seventh democratic general elections."
