Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
One of the men who shot and killed two people, while also leaving two others hurt, on a farm in Swart Umfolozi in northern KZN last year has received two life sentences.
38-year-old Thulani Sibiya pleaded guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery in the Madadeni High Court yesterday.
Sibiya had been part of a gang of seven heavily armed suspects who robbed the family of an undisclosed amount of cash.
Ronnie Lombard and William van Rooyen were killed.
"Sibiya pleaded guilty on all charges yesterday and was sentenced accordingly. The other six remaining accused will appear when trial resumes in mid-April next year," said the police's Nqobile Gwala.
