30 eThekwini workers arrested following Durban protests

Some 30 eThekwini municipal workers arrested in connection with violent protest action last night are due in the Durban Magistrate's Court today.
The suspects are allegedly part of a group of thousands of workers who are demanding salary grade increases. T
They are accused of burning tyres and blocking roads with trucks and damaging other business premises.
Allegations have also been made that the group tried to knock officers with their trucks.
Rubber bullets and tear gas had to be used to disperse the crowd.
SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says three protestors were hurt and taken to hospital.
