2017 Year in Review: George Campbell School of Technology grabs headlines

The George Campbell School of Technology in Durban was thrust into the spotlight after pupils made allegations of racism against some of the teachers.
Classes were disrupted on several days as pupils protested outside the school gates in Sylvester Ntuli Road.
The protestors accused some teachers of calling them monkeys and using other derogatory terms.
The protests saw the school's name trending on social media several times.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education stepped in and held meetings with school management, parents and learner representatives.
