KwaZulu-Natal police say they have arrested 13 more suspects in connection with the early morning shooting at the Brook Street taxi rank, in the Durban CBD yesterday, in which three people were killed.
This brings the total number of arrests to 24 after police took 11 suspects into custody yesterday.
A group of heavily-armed suspects opened fire at the rank, leaving several other people hurt.
This man earns a living washing taxis at the rank and witnessed the shooting.
"I just heard gunshots. Do you know what time it was? 6.10am! I was asleep in a taxi and I just got out and ran for my life, thinking if I stay here I might die here. We went outside the rank and asked for help," he said.
Police recovered 25 firearms including R5 rifles, 9mm pistols and shotguns from the scene.
