Zoleka Mandela: 'CT scan has revealed cancer in my liver and lungs'

Zoleka says she is "hanging on by a thread" after revealing news about her latest battle with cancer.
Two-time breast cancer survivor, Zoleka Mandela, has shared new details about her diagnosis. The author and activist shocked her followers last week when she revealed that she is dying.
Zoleka announced in a lengthy Instagram post that a visit to her oncologist revealed that she has Bone Metastasis - which "occurs when cancer cells spread from their original site to a bone", according to Mayo Clinic.
The mother of six was scheduled for a CT scan and bone scan, to determine whether she has cancer in the remaining parts of her body. She has since received her official diagnosis.
"The CT scan has revealed cancer both in my liver and lungs. I am yet to receive feedback regarding my bone scan, to establish whether I have cancer beyond my ribs. I am hanging on by a thread," she captioned a video on Instagram.
Zoleka thanked South Africans for all their "outpouring of love, prayer, and support".
"Peace. Passion. Positivity," she signed off her post.

Scores of South Africans have sent Zoleka well wishes. Several stars have also flooded her comments section with messages.
"Sending prayers my Zozo," Mafikizolo's Nhlanhla Nciza commented on one of her posts.
Ayanda Thabethe admitted feeling heartbroken after reading Zoleka's post. "Zoleka Mandela's post really broke my heart," she wrote on Twitter.
The new mom says she understands how fearful Zoleka must feel. "When you become a parent, I think the biggest fear becomes having your children grow without you or losing them," Ayanda added in a separate post.
Shortly before sharing news about her latest cancer diagnosis, Zoleka shared a message for her younger self. She posted a picture of herself as a baby with a quote by Nanea Hoffman.
“Dear younger me, someday you are going to stop being afraid of who you are. You’re going to claim yourself with all the fierce tenderness you are hoping so desperately to receive from others. You’ll accept your own limitations, and then you’ll leap over them. And when you stop to look around, you’ll realize that the people and opportunities surrounding you are everything you never knew you always wanted. I’ll be here waiting for you.”- Nanea Hoffman
