Zahara cancels shows - 'My health has taken a toll'
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
It's been a tough few months for Zahara.
Singer-songwriter Zahara was forced to cancel three of her shows this past weekend due to health concerns. The 'Loliwe' hitmaker took to Instagram to notify her fans and promoters.
"I’d like to apologize to my fans and promoters to share that I am unable to carry through my performances this weekend. My health has taken a toll on me and I have been advised to be on bed rest," she wrote.
Zahara, whose real name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, promised her fans that she will be back on stage as soon as she is physically fit to do so.
"I look forward to getting out there."
She also shared a picture of herself in a doctor's room.

Zahara has had a difficult few months. Weeks after a home intruder stole her SAMA trophies, the singer was hit with more bad news.
According to a report in the City Press, she is on the verge of losing her R1.9-million home in Roodepoort. She allegedly did not make payments on the house for months.
Zahara admitted that she was in financial trouble shortly after the news broke. She asked her fans to help her with her financial woes "even if it is as little as R100".
"I’m open for help from anyone!” she was told the Daily Sun. The 33-year-old also made a public plea to Kaizer Chiefs. She asked the football club to let her host a show at the club's stadium for free, according to the publication.
Zahara's health issues will no doubt be a setback for the cash-strapped star. Hopefully she'll be back on stage in no time.
