YouTube's epic 2014 rewind
Updated | By Staff Writer

The YouTube Rewind: Turn Down for 2014 celebrates the moments, memes, and people that made 2014 pop-culture in 5.05 glorious minutes.
And according to a blog post from the Portal A team (who worked on the project with YouTube) it took thousands of hours of work and involved hundreds of YouTube's brightest stars and plenty of international travel to put it together.
They shot a Happy inspired dance sequence in New York City, paid homage to Iggy's Fancy in London, took over the streets of a traditional market in Toyko for All About That Bass and recreated sets from more of the biggest music videos of the year from their offices in Los Angeles.
Oh, and aside from all the YouTube stars who make appearances (think Epic Rap Battles of History, Smosh, TheFineBros, Hannah Hart, Devil Baby, 'Sadie doesn't want her brother to grow up', Tyler Oakley - among many, many more), look out for the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert... and Big Bird!
Get ready for 2014 as it unfolded on YouTube - all crammed into five minutes.
