Greg Lomas, Colwyn Thomas and Roger Jardine are synonymous with Durban photography.
Catch their joint exhibition tonight at Open Plan Studio (1 Station Road).
It starts at 6:30 and is mahala so it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss.

Open Night Shopping @ Shop 6. 59 Meridian Drive Umhlanga
When local creative and fashionistas come together magic happens. I got to have a sneak peek at Myst earlier today and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of trendy stuff to choose from. The open night is tonight, so, as we speak, head down for some champers and get ready to shop!
FRIDAY 19 DECEMBER
Pet Shop Boys @ People’s Park Moses Mabhida Stadium
If you haven’t already bagged yourselves tickets then pump up the jump and book immediately for Pet Shop Boys at Webticket. This is a show not to be missed, especially with Goodluck and Goldfish as the supporting acts. It’s set be a blast. The show starts at 6 and tickets start at around R495.
Steve Fataar and Wake Mahlobo @ The Playhouse
Pop music and crowds aren’t for everybody but the east coast has always got your back. If you’re feeling like something a little more chilled for Friday night then check out Steve Fataar and Wake Mahlobo at the Playhouse. There’s a sundowner vibe with poets and it will cost you nothing. That’s the spirit! If you need any more details join their Facebook Event Page here.
Christmas Celebration @ The Playhouse
The Playhouse Company has assembled a stunning line-up of celebrity artists for its Christmas Celebration. Guaranteed to make the summer of 2014 something to remember, the concert boasts such highly acclaimed talent as Judith Sephuma, Tim Moloi, Nondumiso Tembe and Bongani Tembe, as well as our very own Damon Beard as the evening’s master of ceremonies. Throw in some daring trapeze acts, the sheer artistry of the Playhouse Dance Residency, the delightful harmonising of a massed choir of over 200 singers and the accompaniment of the famed KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, and you have the makings of a dazzling concert for the whole family to celebrate the festive season. Tickets start at R150 and you can book through computicket.

Get all your last minute Christmas shopping done and dusted at I Heart Market this Saturday. With creatives and crafters across KZN joining in the action you’ll be sure to find something special for those important peeps in your life. The market opens at 9am and closes at 3pm.

Throw on your swimwear pack on the SPF and head down to the best beach party in KZN. The Maynards Beach Festival is back and has upped the anti this year. There’s tons of entertainment and fun for the kids, with loads of prizes up for grabs. It will all be going down on Saturday and Sunday at uShaka beach. The festival also runs in Margate on 19 & 20 December and in Ballito on 23 & 24 December.
Rowan Stuart @ Buds on The Bay
Besides being one of Durban’s best musicians, Rowan is probably one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Take a little adventure to Buds on The Bay for a sundowner session, order the ‘Caprese Salad’ and you’ll thank me. He’ll be there live from 12:30. For directions or more info on his KZN tour checkout his Facebook Event Page here.
Sunday Jazz Upmarket @ Umhlanga
Seriously, if you still don’t have all your Christmas shopping by Sunday then at least you have one last stop: head to The Upmarket for some local treasures.
