What SA stars really look like without make-up

Make-up has the power to transform you from drab to fab in minutes.

But the "Nadia Nakai Make-up Challenge" highlighted just how big of a transformation it can lead to.

The local rapper made headlines recently after a picture of her wearing no make-up went viral on Twitter.

Her fans were shocked by her appearance, with many saying she was "unrecognisable" without her "face beat". 

Nadai hit back at her bullies, some who went as far as telling her she looked "ugly".

She says she is not embarrassed by the picture, which was taken while she was enjoying quality time with her boyfriend, Bandile Mbereat, at a guest lodge.

"I am human and when I'm spending time with bae, I'm not gonna waste time 'face-beating' when we are chilling. I go shopping without make-up. I take pics with fans without make-up. Like, that's my life and I will continue doing that," she wrote in a note shared on her Instagram stories.

Nadia added that she was happy that the image became a trending topic.

Many women were inspired to share pictures of themselves with make-up and without.

"I'm really happy that my picture inspired other beautiful women. Women should feel comfortable in showing their true beauty, bare faced and all!  That s**t is dope," she wrote. 

While some Twitter users were quick to slam women for wearing "too much make-up", Nadia made it clear that it is all being comfortable in your own skin whether you wear it or not.
