Miss SA 2024 contestant Chidinma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, popularly known as Chichi, continues to be a hot topic on the social media streets.

The model's recent drama involves an alleged video of her tying the knot.

According to the video shared on X by a user with the handle @BlueDiamond, Chichi is allegedly still married to her rumoured husband, King Sefo.

A video of the alleged wedding ceremony has been doing the rounds on social media.

This has led to a debate on social media as to whether a married or divorced person can enter Miss SA.

As stated on the Miss SA website, 'There are no restrictions in respect of the applicant’s marital status.'

There has also been much debate about Chichi's nationality, who was born in South Africa and has a father who is Nigerian.

The Miss SA website states that someone with dual citizenship can compete in the beauty pageant.

'Can I enter if I have dual citizenship or if I am only a permanent resident of South Africa?' reads a question on the website.

'Miss South Africa entrants must be South African citizens and in possession of a valid South African ID document or passport. If an applicant holds dual citizenship, they must provide details of both on the entry form,' states the answer.

Sport, Arts, and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie on Tuesday took to X to say South Africans must not be shamed for asking necessary questions of Miss SA's contestants.

“When you avail yourself to represent South Africans you are willingly opening yourself to scrutiny. South Africans shouldn’t be shamed and accused because they are asking necessary questions of the lady who wants to represent them as Miss South Africa,” he wrote on X.

This comes after he wrote: “We cannot have Nigerians competing in our Miss SA competition.”
