Veteran actor Jamie Bartlett has died, tributes pour in

"Jamie [Bartlett] as David Genaro was literally iconic" - social media users react to the 'Rhythm City' actor's death.
Tributes are pouring in for well-known actor Jamie Bartlett who passed away at the age of 55. His family confirmed the news on Monday evening.
Jamie is known for his roles on popular local soapies. He starred as David Genaro in 'Rhythm City' and Mike O'Reilly in 'Isidingo'.
Jamie has also acted in several films including 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' and 'White Lion'. The award-winning actor has worked in the industry for more than three decades.
His cause of death has not been made public yet.

Scores of South Africans have taken to social media to pay tribute to the acting legend. David Genaro was trending at number on Tuesday morning.
DJ Nkanyezi Kubheka wrote on Twitter: "David Genaro. What a villain. I grew up watching Jamie Bartlett on TV. Condolences to the Bartlett family."
Another user tweeted: "One thing about David Genaro? He carried Rhythm City on his back for years!"
South African film producer Anant Singh has also paid tribute to Jamie. Anant, who worked with Jamie on several projects including 'Bravo Two Zero' and 'Red Dust', described him as a role model to young actors.
"Jamie was a master of his craft and was known for the powerful performances he delivered in iconic roles he played in films and television shows... Jamie was a role model to young actors entering the world of film and television. His passing leaves a huge void in the industry, and he will be missed by his peers," he said in a statement.

Jamie was recently spotted at the 'Wrong Girl' and 'Silverton Siege' premieres. He attended both red carpets with his partner, Rosa Onius.
The couple made headlines late last year after fans noted how happy the actor looked. He shared several pictures of Rosa, whom he has known for years, on social media.
"With you I am a happy camper" he captioned one post.
Jamie was previously married to former 'Generations' actress Camilla Waldman.
The former couple have a 24-year-old son named Hector Bartlett.
