Tyra Banks reveals she had her first alcoholic drink at 50

Supermodel turned entrepreneur Tyra Banks made a shocking admission during a recent interview.
The 'America's Top Model' host revealed that when she turned 50 in December last year, she celebrated the milestone with an alcoholic beverage.
That's nothing out of the ordinary for the average person in their 50s, but Tyra confessed it was the first time she had a drink in her entire life.
She made the confession while recalling how she celebrated her birthday in Australia with friends and family.
"My mom and my best friend surprised me there, and it was magical. We took a seaplane. We had a meal in the middle of nowhere... I had an alcoholic drink for the first time."
She said it wasn't worth it because the drink was nasty!
Tyra told People that she had a sip of alcohol in the past but never had a drink. She added that she thought 50 was old when she was younger, but women like Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, and Julia Roberts have flipped the script.
"I could not wait to be 50. I felt it was a rite of passage to be my true self. I like to challenge misconceptions about aging by saying, 'Child, I'm 50!'"

Tyra, who is mom to an eight-year-old named York, said in her December 2023 birthday post that she understands why many people fear getting older.
"Things just aren’t the same anymore. Our bodies. Our energy. Our minds. But I gotta say, my mind is FIERCER THAN EVER. Wise, baby. But still… I think we have to look at aging and these big milestone years like, “I GET to be that age.” A Blessing. If you’re younger than me, I HOPE you get to reach my age and BEYOND. Because it feels damn good," she wrote.
