Tributes pour in for 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' star

Reality star June 'Mama June' Shannon is mourning the loss of her daughter, Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell.

Anna lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, December 9. She was 29. The mother of two was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January 2023. 

Anna sought help after suffering stomach aches. According to TMZ, cancer was discovered in her kidney, liver, and lung. 

Mama June took to social media at the weekend to ask her followers to pray for her daughter. 

"Y’all we are asking for prayers for our family as we are going through this process. We really appreciate y’all for all the thoughts and prayers and we will update y’all whenever we can. Just know that all of your thoughts and your prayers are very much appreciated during this time," she wrote. 

Sadly, Mama June returned to Instagram on Sunday to announce that Anna had passed away.

"With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us. She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM. She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months. She passed away with her family around her."

She shared a picture of all her daughters Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon.

June and her family appeared in TLC's reality show, 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'. 

Mama June and Anna had a falling out at one point but they appeared to reconcile. Anna was spotted at June's wedding to Justin Stroud in February.

All her daughters walked her down the aisle. 

Anna's sisters also took to social media to pay tribute to her. 

"It’s hard to think that my sister is gone she was so young and had a bright future ahead of her. She will always be with us and we love and miss her already !! Y’all keep our family and [those] two sweet [babies] of hers in your prayers !! Anna I love you and just know we got Katilyn and Kylee for you they will be taken care of," Jessica wrote. 

Honey Boo Boo revealed that Anna was in "so much pain" on Saturday. 

"But now as a family, we all know she is at peace now. I really don’t know what to say as my heart is completely broken. Watching my 29-year-old sister this last year battle this horrible disease hasn’t been easy... I’m so glad that you waited til I was home to take your last breath!" she wrote.
