Trevor Noah celebrates five years on 'The Daily Show'

"Beyond grateful to everyone who’s been with me on this ride!" says Trevor.
It's been five years since South African comedian Trevor Noah took over the reins at 'The Daily Show'.
The 36-year-old made his debut on the late-night talk and news satire program in September 2015 after Jon Stewart stepped down.
Since then, Trevor has won several awards for his contributions to the show, including his first Emmy and 'Best Host' at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Our golden boy has interviewed the likes of former US presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
Trevor told The Wall Street Journal in an interview last month that he felt a lot of pressure to continue the show's success without Jon.
"I remember South Africans saying to me, ‘Hey, man, if you fail, we all look bad. They’re never going to give any African any type of big TV show again. So don’t mess this up.’ I even had Black people in America saying, ‘Oh, man, don’t, don’t mess this up for us. You mess this up and it looks bad on everybody’," he said.
Trevor is doing pretty well for himself. His hosting duties on 'The Daily Show' and his sold-out stand-up shows have helped make him a multi-millionaire.
In 2019, Forbes named him the fourth highest-earning comedian in the world behind Jim Gaffigan, Jerry Seinfeld, and Kevin Hart. The comedian earned a whopping $28-million in 2018 - that's more than R400-million!
Trevor's personal life is also doing great. He was recently pictured with actress Minka Kelly.

'Born A Crime', a bestselling book he wrote about his early life in South Africa, is being turned into a biopic.
Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o will play his mother, Patricia Nombuyiselo Noah, while South African-born director Liesl Tommy will helm the film.
