Tom Cruise buys Dakota Fanning the same birthday gift every year

Buying a birthday gift for Dakota Fanning is one mission that is not impossible for Tom Cruise. 

Dakota and Tom developed a close bond on the set of 'War of the Worlds' in 2005. She played his daughter in the movie. 

Dakota turned 11 while they were working on the film, and Tom gave her something that just about every preteen would get excited about - a new phone. 

"He gave me my first cellphone for that birthday. It was a Motorola Razr," she revealed on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show'. 

Despite not having anyone to call, Dakota was excited about the gift because she always wanted a Razr.

"I must have been talking about it a lot, because that's what he got me. It was such a great memory."

It seems that Tom is very observant. During a press tour, he got an idea for her next birthday present. 

"He always sends me the same thing every year, after the cellphone. I loved shoes when I was little and I started to be able to fit into really small adult shoes when I was on the 'War of the Worlds' press tour, so I was very excited about them. And so, from that birthday on, he always sends me shoes," she told Kelly.

Dakota didn't specify what kind of shoes they were, but we can only guess that the 'Mission: Impossible' star spared no expense.

Tom Cruise Daughter

Dakota's interview has opened up another talking point  - what happened to Tom's daughter, Suri Cruise?

Tom and his then-wife Katie Holmes welcomed Suri Cruise in April 2006. Suri turned 18 in 2024 and has been photographed by paparazzi living a very "ordinary" life in New York.

Suri and Tom have not been pictured together in years, and reports suggest they do not have a close relationship.

The teen is following in her famous parents' footsteps as an actress. Suri recently appeared in her school's musical production of 'Head Over Heels'. She was listed as Suri Noelle, which is Katie's second name.

Suri also has an amazing voice. 

She sang a song for her mother's film, 'Alone Together'. She performed a cover of 'Blue Moon' by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. 

"If she recorded an album of old classics I would buy it. She's really good!" one YouTube user remarked.
