Tina Knowles denies shading Janet Jackson after liking shady post

Tina Knowles is making it clear that she has no beef with music superstar Janet Jackson. 

The 70-year-old, who is mom to singers Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, is setting the record straight after her social media activity became a talking point online. 

Tina liked an Instagram post criticising ticket prices for Janet's 'Together Again Tour'.  The Instagram user shared a screenshot of the prices for the VIP section. Tickets ranged from $839.95 (R15,853) to $2399.95 (R45,297).

"What a joke... they add $1000 for a 15 second meet and greet again...You want Beyoncé prices, have real production. Just disgusted... Way to thank your fans after years of support," the Instagram user wrote. 

Beyoncé's fans noticed that Tina liked the post and some questioned if the two had beef.

Tina, whose real name is Celestine Ann Beyoncé (Beyincé), was quick to quash any rumours of bad blood. She took to her Instagram page to say that she is sadden by people's speculations. 

"Janet Jackson is an icon and I would never question another artist. I took Destiny's Child to see Janet when they were 15 years old. They always looked up to her and she opened doors for Beyoncé. Why would I hate on her?" Tina said. 

It seems the fashion designer liked the post without reading it properly. 

"I know now not to be in a rush and to be very careful. (I learned my lesson)! Especially when I have so much going on.. I just wanted to clarify. . I do know that you can see people's likes so I would be pretty dumb to do that."

Many social media users defended Tina after her social media mishap.

"We all are guilty of liking stuff, so quickly without reading the caption or finish watching the whole clip or reel just because we are showing love & trust it’s positive coming from that individuals page," one Instagram user wrote. 

Another user added: "I just be liking posts too Mama Tina! I understand."
