Things are looking up for Zahara after financial woes
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Zahara says she won't be making the same financial mistakes after almost losing her house.
A few months after asking her fans to help with donations to save her home, Zahara is doing much better financially.
The 'Loliwe' hitmaker's Roodeport house was on the verge of being auctioned in May after defaulting on her payments on the R1.9-million home.
Zahara reached out to the public for help. "Even if it’s as little as R100," she begged.
The past two years have been difficult for the Mzansi star. The COVID-19 pandemic put some strain on her finances. The death of her sister also affected her as Zahara had to take care of her family alone.
Donations poured in for the 33-year-old after her public plea, with stars like Lady Du offering help.

A businessman also pitched in to help Zahara save her house.
Speaking to Drum magazine, the SAMA winner says she is grateful for all the assistance she received in her time of need.
“I know some people wanted to help but did not have the money, but they prayed for me. Even those who do not like me, some put me in their prayers. Their families prayed for me. I even had children wishing me well," she said.
Zahara is back on her feet and working a lot more these days.
"I have been working hard and making sure I don’t make the same mistakes I have made in the past. I am getting more bookings and working on planning better for my future and finances."
