Taraji P. Henson reveals why she threw away the outfit she wore to Beyoncé's show
“Long story short, I did have to throw it away at the end of the night because it had snags and holes."
Taraji P. Henson is a victim of what you see is not always what you get when shopping online.
The actor revealed this during her interview with 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'. She was discussing her outfit for Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour show which she bought online.
“I had already had my outfit picked out for [Beyoncé’s] show, months in advance,” the actor said.
Unfortunately, her outfit was not silver and on August 22, Beyoncé asked all those who would be coming to her show to dress in silver in honour of her 42nd birthday.
“Then, she [ Beyoncé] does this, ‘Oh, it’s my birthday. Let’s all wear silver.’ So, I mean, my house is being renovated and my clothes are in storage, so I randomly happened to buy this off of those Instagram Shopping pages.”
The comedian says the outfit's quality was disappointing and it was not what it seemed online. However, she was forced to wear it because it matched the theme.
“At the end of the day, that’s all I had for Beyoncé. It was kind of silver, had silver sparklies on it,” she said.
Although she wore the outfit, she says she got rid of it after the show.
“Long story short, I did have to throw it away at the end of the night because it had snags and holes — but thanks, Instagram Shopping!”

The comedian also spoke about her love for Usher and discussed the 2022 photo that went viral where she was pictured dancing with Usher on stage.
"It was my birthday, and my girls and I decided to celebrate in Vegas," she told Jimmy.
"I kind of knew something was going to happen, because they were like, 'sit in this seat'—I know what the camera seats are!" Taraji said.
"And he came up to the stage, and he wasn't ready to call me up yet. He looked over my way, and he was like, 'I see you Taraji!' And I thought that was my cue," she said explaining why she rushed on stage.
"Usher is a female magnet, I don't know if you know this. But you're like, drawn to him," said the actor.
Following her birthday celebration, she met Usher again at the Paris Fashion Week which took place in September.
He says Usher saw Pharell in the audience "then he looks across, and goes, 'Is that Taraji P. Henson?".
She then says she rushed to the stage.
"There's something about him—he's a magnet, but you come in twerking. Look at all the footage, it's not just me! He's a magnet, and he pulls it out of you. I don't twerk in public!" she said.
