AKA's father, Tony Forbes, marked Mother's Day on Sunday by dedicating a special message to his late loved ones.
"Happy Mother's Day Mummy, I miss you, I am still so broken, I love you, please take care of him, keep him close," he wrote.
"Tell Daddy I love him and am proud to be his son. Come to me in my dreams and talk to me. I will never forget how you lived unselfishly for us and loved us," Tony added.
AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, was gunned down in Durban in February last year. His friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane was also killed.

AKA's mother, Lynn Forbes, marked her second Mother's Day on Sunday since his passing.
She shared a recent picture of herself posing with her mother.
"It’s the simple things that matter to me most these days, Mom. Things like just being in your presence, seeing you smile, touching you and hearing your voice... My story starts with you and without you I won’t exist and no one that comes after me would have been here," Lynn wrote.
DJ Zinhle, who is the mother of AKA's only child - Kairo Forbes, wished Lynn a "Happy Mother's Day'.

Shortly before Mother's Day, Lynn shared a sweet video of AKA and Kairo sharing a funny moment while eating a burger.
Lynn, who is also mom to a song named Stefan, urged her followers to take nothing for granted.
What I would give for just one more random morning of making burgers together in the Kiernan & Kairo test kitchen … even if the patties are raw or rare. Treasure the moments," she captioned the clip.Tony and Lynn opened up about losing AKA in November last year.
"Losing Kiernan has brought us closer as a family. The thing about family is it's not just about blood family, it's also about his friends. I have gained sons and daughters,” Tony told TshisaLIVE.
Lynn revealed that she had become a different person.
“It's difficult every day. Life goes on and people go on with their lives and we have to, but I wake up with this every day. My life has changed and a part of me is gone. I am a different person, but we soldier on," she told the publication.
Seven people were arrested in connection with the murder of AKA and Tebello in February. The motive for the shooting is still unknown.
