Is Somizi Mhlongo returning to 'Idols SA'?

Rumour has it that Somizi will be gracing our screens again this year for 'Idols SA' season 18.
Several media publications have reported that South African media personality, Somizi Mhlongo, might be making a come back as a presenter on 'Idols SA' season 18.
Somizi was one of the favourite judges and many people said he brought charisma and drama to the competition.
According to The South African, auditions for the upcoming season will start on 23 January.

Somizi was part of 'Idols SA', but took time off in August 2021 after abuse allegations were made against him by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung.
"M-Net and Somizi Mhlongo met to discuss his role on Idols in light of the allegations made against him. We have reached a mutual agreement that Somizi Mhlongo will take some time off to deal with his personal circumstances until this matter has been resolved."
Following news that he might be returning, many people took to social media to express their excitement.

Several media publications have also revealed that Unathi Nkayi will likely not return to 'Idols SA' for season 18 when Somizi Mhlongo returns.

This comes after Unathi was axed from Kaya FM after she allegedly falsely accused Sizwe Dhlomo of being verbally abusive towards her.
