Somizi invites Tito Mboweni for lunch after roast chicken disaster
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Somizi showed Tito Mboweni how to make a roast chicken after the finance minister's own efforts did not go according to plan.
Finance Minister Tito Mboweni's cooking skills - or lack thereof - continue to cause a stir on social media.
The politician took to Twitter on Saturday to share pictures of his attempt to make roast chicken.
"A very simple meal today. Lots of garlic as usual! Roasting the chicken. Not complicated," he captioned an image of his cooking setup.
But once the chicken was in the oven, it started falling apart while it was roasting.
"I don’t think that this is turning out according to Plan!" Mboweni wrote.
Despite the disaster, the minister's chicken made it on his plate and he enjoyed the meal he prepared.

But Twitter users were not easily impressed.
"How did you make a chicken look like it has a claim with the Road Accident Fund?!" one man wrote.

As abused as women fighting GBV
Unappetizing as the men who kill and rape women
The amount of heat and protection is exactly as that which we get from ANC #TitoMboweni #LeratoMoloi #PearlThusi

Even former DA leader Mmusi Maimane couldn't resist taking a swipe at the finance minister.
One could say the same about the economy right now.

I saw a comment in the replies that said you promised and delivered on two totally different economic chickens. pic.twitter.com/lX1Ptu2AQS
