The rapper was shot four times by an unknown gunman who was driving a white Cadillac. Tupac was in a white BMW which was driven by Death Row Records founder Marion Knight.

He died six days later after the shooting.

Since then no one has been arrested.

At the time of his death, he was only 25 years old.

He was not only a rapper, but also an actor. He released his first album at the age of 20.

During his short music career, Tupac sold more than 75-million records worldwide.

Several social media users expressed their disappointment at police taking so long to solve the murder case.

"Same Tupac that died almost 3 decades ago! Even the dude many suspected pulled the trigger - Orlando Anderson died ages ago. From a documentary I saw, I think only 2 guys from the shooting scene are still alive - Suge Knight and another guy in the other car," wrote one user.
