Senzo's BMW repossessed
Senzo's BMW is now in the hands of auctioneers, according to a report in the Daily Sun.
The newspaper reports that it was repossessed by Aucor Property at his home in Umlazi on Wednesday.
Although it is not known how much money was outstanding, it turns out the car's finance repayments slipped into arrears, and the Meyiwas were unable to settle the amount.
The car was apparently financed for over R1-million, and was not insured.
An Aucor employee confirmed that the BMW SUV is in their repo lot: "We cannot say when it will be auctioned because we have wait for clearance from the bank," the employee told Daily Sun.
Meyiwa, who was the Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain, was shot and killed on 26 October 2014 outside his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's family home in Spruitview, Ekurhuleni. Police are still searching for his killers.
