"They are currently stuck in their city and can’t really do anything," says Rolene Strauss about her brother and his wife.
Former Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss is asking her followers to pray for her brother Johann Strauss and his wife Ina amid the coronavirus outbreak in China.
Johann and Ina moved to the East Asian country four years ago.
"They started their own exporting company and teach part time. They visited home and returned to China just before Christmas last year," Rolene wrote on Instagram.
Since returning to China, the couple have been stuck in their city.
"My heart is aching today... They are currently stuck in their city and can’t really do anything. Please pray with me for their health and safety and the health of everyone affected," Rolene added.
The coronavirus has claimed the lives of more than 2,000 people and infected over 75,000 others.
Several South Africans have shared stories about what life in China is like amid the outbreak.
Durbanite Haseena Nabi told ECR Newswatch that while panic had died down a bit, wearing protective gloves and face masks has become the norm.
