Priyanka Chopra called a 'hypocrite' over India-Pakistan conflict tweet

"I am patriotic," says actress Priyanka Chopra after being confronted about her views on the conflict between India and Pakistan.
Priyanka Chopra is not backing down from a post she made on Twitter in February about the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan.
The Indian actress was confronted about the tweet while speaking at a Beautycon event in Los Angeles a few days ago.
Audience member Ayesha Malik called Priyanka a "hypocrite" for promoting peace as a Unicef Goodwill Ambassador while seemingly encouraging war between the two countries.
"So it was kind of hard hearing you talk about humanity because as your neighbor, a Pakistani, I know you're a bit of a hypocrite. You tweeted on February 26, 'Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces'," Ayesha began.
Priyanka's tweet means "long live India" or "hail India".
The 37-year-old shared the post the same day that an Indian fighter jet bombed an alleged terrorist training camp in Pakistan.
Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces 🇮🇳 🙏🏽

Ayesha eventually had the mic taken away from her but not before she told Priyanka how disappointed she was.
"You are a Unicef ambassador for peace and you are encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan. As a Pakistani, millions of women like me have supported you in your business..."

Priyanka Chopra tweeted during a time when we were this 👌🏽 close to sending nukes to one another. Instead of advocating for peace she tweeted in support of the Indian army pic.twitter.com/LhbMkOW59v

Priyanka remained calm throughout the confrontation and even received applause from the audience.
"I hear you. Whenever you are done venting. Got it? Done?... I have many, many friends from Pakistan and I am from India. War is not something I'm really fond of but I am patriotic, so I'm sorry if I hurt sentiments to people who do love me and have loved me," she said.
Priyanka added that she did not like the way the woman approached her about the matter.
"But I think that all of us have a sort of, a middle ground that we all have to walk. Just like you probably do as well. The way that you came at me right now, girl, don't yell. We're all here for love."
“Whenever you’re don’t venting”. Sorry, didn’t realize that speaking on a humanitarian crisis was “venting” pic.twitter.com/OqCLgjDNa1

Priyanka's response received a mixed reaction, with some applauding her for keeping her cool, while others felt she belittled Ayesha.
Priyanka Chopra is incredibly condescending & arrogant: “girl, don’t yell, don’t embarrass yourself”.

Also, imagine responding with “I have Pakistani friends” after being asked about supporting war between the two nuclear powers. pic.twitter.com/bLk8005dK6

Also Priyanka: watches a girl's mic being snatched by security and does nothing, then proceeds to talk down to her in the most catty, condescending tone. pic.twitter.com/TwUPNMKgd5
Priyanka chopra’s response to being called out for her war mongering rhetoric being “I have so many Pakistani friends” is like white ppl saying “I have a black friend” when being called out on their BS. I SAID WHAT I SAID. The more I think abt it the more annoyed I get

I am not big fan of #PriyankaChopra but she is always self made women.

Pakistan is taking her tweet "Jai Hind #IndianArmedForces " out of proportion. How does this means nuclear war against Pakistan ?
Army is not equal to nuclear war. If so then Pakistan is equal to terrorist.
#PriyankaChopra didn’t say a word against Pakistan. This was a tweet after Indian Army’s victory over a terror champ.

Malala tweets clearly against India and blindness against terrorism in her country.
Same people go silent!? Her way may not be right but her tweet was!!! pic.twitter.com/ZZBa5pxsyz
