#PowerWomenSummit2022 - Thuso Mbedu set to deliver keynote address

"I have a voice that matters. I need to stop apologising for existing."
South African actress Thuso Mbedu has been announced as the keynote speaker for The Wrap's Power Women Summit 2022.
The summit is set to take place in Santa Monica, California, on December 13 and 14.
'The Woman King' actress will join several other high-profile speakers at the event including Tembi Locke - whose real-life love story inspired the Netflix series, 'From Scratch'.
"I’m so excited to deliver the keynote address @wrapwomen’s #PowerWomenSummit2022... My voice MAY shake, but that won’t stop me from sharing my piece," Thuso wrote on Instagram.
The 31-year-old says she is usually the one listening, but is proud that she has a voice that matters.
"My favorite part of my journey has been sitting in rooms with people from all walks of life and just listening to their stories and what it is they want to add to the world. I genuinely enjoy listening more than speaking. And like I’ve said when 'I’ve been asked the question 'what have you learned from playing Nawi or Cora', my response has been, 'I have a voice that matters. I need to stop apologising for existing.'"

According to organisers, 'The Power Women Summit is the largest annual gathering of the most influential women in entertainment, media and technology. The Summit aims to inspire and empower women across the landscape of their professional careers and personal lives. 2022's PWS provides two days of education, workshops and networking".
Some of the confirmed speakers include 'House of the Dragon' actress Olivia Cooke, 'Sex Education' star Aimee Lou Wood, and Stephanie Hsu from 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.
Thuso has attended several A-list events in the past few months. She attended the 2022 Guggenheim International Gala in New York.
Vogue magazine captured every moment of 'The Underground Railroad' star's night out. She wore a beige cotton-canvas Dior gown designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri.
"The Dior Guggenheim Gala look played with a color and vibe I haven’t done on the carpet before; I loved the cut (and the pockets!), the texture, and the detailing of the patterns. It felt modern and elegant, which was fitting for the event. You couldn’t see my shoe, but I felt like Cinderella when I slipped into my Dior slipper,” she told the magazine.
Here's a closer look at what Thuso wore on the red carpet at some of the recent events she attended.
