Updated | By East Coast Radio
A New York songwriter has turned into an
overnight success after her song reached 1-million downloads in less than a
week.
Grammy Award-winner Pharrell Williams endorsed Maggie Rogers’s breathtakingly beautiful “Alaska” song, taking the emerging artist from unknown to global sensation.
Maggie got the chance to play the song for the ‘Happy’ singer at a NYU master class seminar, and he was blown away almost instantly.
“I’ve never heard anyone like you before, and I’ve never heard anything that sounds like that…that’s a drug for me,” he told Maggie at the seminar.
Pharrell was visibly emotional while listening to the haunting track.
She released her debut album in 2014 but has managed to go unnoticed in the music industry.
But now, thanks to her encounter with Pharrell, Maggie looks set to be the next big thing!
After her famous meeting with Pharrell, music lovers requested the single, and six days ago Maggie posted a remastered version of the song on her Soundcloud account, which has been streamed over 1-million times.
Maggie is proof that your entire life can change in one moment!
We look forward to seeing what she produces next.
