"Everything happens for a reason" - Netflix has decided not to renew 'Queen Sono' for a second season.
Fans of Netflix's first original African series, 'Queen Sono', won't get to find out what happens next in the spy drama.
The streaming entertainment service announced this week that the series has been given the chop after just one season.
Pearl Thusi played the lead role in the local series, which debuted in 190 countries earlier this year.
Priyanka Chopra was just one of the many stars who congratulated Pearl on her new show.

The show was well-received by local audiences, but due to a number of challenges, including COVID-19 production issues, Netflix decided not to move forward with season two.
"Netflix is also grateful to the amazing efforts shown by the cast and crew for their stellar efforts in creating this show for our members around the world," All4Women quoted Netflix as saying.
Pearl says she is grateful for the "lifetime opportunity to make history" on the series.
"There will never be another ‘first’ African Netflix Original Series. I’m proud of the work we did, but everything happens for a reason. I am excited about what the future holds.”
Actor Kagiso Lediga, who directed the series, added that he was proud of the "beautiful story" they put together.
