Social media users are divided over a recent confession Paris Hilton made regarding her son Phoenix

During an episode of her reality show, 'Paris In Love', the 42-year-old told her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild that she had never changed his diaper.

Phoenix was a month-old baby when the scene was filmed.

“Should I learn how to change his diaper?" she asked Nicky before adding, "I said I wouldn’t do this on my birthday, but I will for you."

Nicky and Phoenix's nanny looked on as Paris changes her first dirty diaper.

"It's motherhood, you gotta get your hands a little dirty," Nicky said in a confessional.

Paris shocked her friends and family in January when she announced that she welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Carter Reum.

Phoenix was born via surrogate. The couple did not tell a soul about the pregnancy. Nicky and their mother, Kathy Hilton, were also in the dark.

The latest season of 'Paris in Love' includes footage of the moment her family met him for the first time.

Paris walked into a living room with her baby in her arms."This is your grandson, Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum," she told her shocked mother.

Keeping a pregnancy a secret is understandable but not changing your own baby's diaper - not so much!

Well, according to social media users anyway.

Many slammed Paris for not being motherly. "Rich people are so out of touch with reality this is real sad," a TikTok user wrote.

Another user added: "No amount of money would stop me dealing with my own baby. The disconnect here is appalling."

A third person commented: "I love Paris lately, but honestly, this is so painful to watch."

However, some people came to her defence. "I wonder how many dads out there have never changed their children’s diapers?" an X user asked.

One woman admitted that she was scared to bathe her daughter when she was born.

"Carrying your own baby does not automatically make you know how to change your baby. I was scared to wash my newborn for her first two weeks on this earth," the woman wrote.

Another woman wrote: "If I had the funds…I wouldn’t have changed a diaper for a month either."

Fear was also what kept Paris from carrying her baby. She told Glamour UK that she was too afraid of childbirth.

"When I was in 'The Simple Life', I had to be in a room when a woman was giving birth, and that traumatized me as well. But I want a family so bad, it's just the physical part of doing it. I'm just so scared … childbirth and death are the two things that scare me more than anything in the world."

Paris welcomed her second child via a surrogate mother as well. She announced the arrival of her daughter London on Thanksgiving.
