Parents criticize Sam Smith's "degrading, sexualised new music video"
Updated | By Poelano Malema
"Five-year-olds can search this up and watch it with no content restrictions!"
Sam Smith released a new music over the weekend for 'I'm Not Here To Make Friends'.
Talking about the video on Instagram, the award-winning artist described it as 'extravagant'.
The 'Unholy' hitmaker also revealed that Ukrainian director, Tanu Muiño, worked on the music video.
"This video is fabulous, extravagant, queer and everything in between. Creating this with @tanumuino was a dream.
I hope it brings you pure joy," Sam wrote on Instagram.

The video has caused a stir on social media.
Some parents are complaining that there should be an age restriction because of the sexual scenes the video contains.
In the video, Sam is seen wearing a sexy outfit while the dancers are twerking. There are other sexual scenes as well.
"YouTube does not have any age restrictions on Sam Smiths degrading sexualised new music video. 5 year olds can search this up and watch it with no content restrictions! Sam Smith, this is not art. This is not trendy. This is not empowering. This is monstrous!," wrote a Twitter user.
"It's not age appropriate. ALOT of music should be better censored. It’s ridiculous how we expose the younger generation to everything our parents tried to shield us from but this right here was just.. a lot. If you’re gay cool but it’s limits to everything," wrote another Twitter user.
Another Twitter user added that it is too suggestive.
"Happy for people to express themselves but as a mum I’d be horrified to think of my children watching this. Nothing to do with they way they identify…I’m fine with that. It’s just far to suggestive for kids to watch," wrote the user.
