Moshe Ndiki defends throwing his pet a lavish funeral - 'I loved my pup'
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Moshe Ndiki is mourning the death of his beloved fur baby and couldn't care less what people think!
Media personality, Moshe Ndiki, gave his late dog, Sugar Ndiki, a "beautiful and amazing" send-off this week.
But the 'Gomora' star received some major side-eye from some social media users who felt the funeral was too lavish for a pet.
Moshe's Pomeranian passed away after being bitten by a pit bull in June. He hosted an all-white funeral ceremony to bid a final farewell to his "first born".
"Thank you to everyone that sent condolences, attended the funeral and sent us heartwarming messages, you’re truly appreciated, thank you to my friends and family for understanding my pain and how much I loved my pup, @sugarndiki always and forever," he wrote on Instagram.

The funeral ceremony was hosted by the popular event-planning company, Nono Events. Maureen “Nono” Skosana, who owns the company, has planned weddings, baby showers, and birthday parties for several high-profile celebrities.

Despite receiving support from fellow pet owners, some social media users did not see the point.
"Moshe Ndiki is the first man in the entire world to ever have the entire black nation agreeing on one thing, that it was a waste of money!" one Twitter user wrote.
Another user added: "Imagine going to a funeral for a dog and actually crying yazin abo Moshe ba extra nje. Should've taken that money and donated to the Enyobeni victims or to my electricity bill."
Speaking to Drum magazine, Moshe says he doesn't understand the fuss.
"I decided to have a lavish funeral, why not? People do it for their loved ones, their kids, and their parents and why can't I do it for my pet? He was a constant in my life. I loved him. I don't see a reason why not and I don't see anything wrong," he told the publication.
