Miss SA reveals 'national' outfit she will wear at Miss World

There has been mixed emotions about the national outfit Liesl Laurie will be wearing in China for the Miss World pageant this December.

The R100 000 garment designed by Casper Bosman is made from copper, gold and leather and the dress represents the country's mineral resources.

Miss South Africa said that she felt 'like a goddess' while wearing it.

She added that 'It's very elaborate. We want to have people talking about it and looking at it for a very long time.'

People on social media have either loved the outfit or think it’s a total miss, so we decided to ask our very own ‘fashion police’ panel here at East Coast Radio to rate her dress.

This is what they had to say:

Darren Maule:

You don’t get more earthy than minerals, she used to be a diamond in the rough. She get a solid 8/10 for her efforts!

Zaba:

I give the dress a 2. It looks like something from Strictly Come Dancing meets a bridesmaid from Our Perfect Wedding.

Jane Linley-Thomas

It's fab! 8/10

Damon Beard:

It's a 5 from me...It's ok.. but I wouldn't say it's breathtaking...

Now it is your turn, rate Miss South Africa's dress below:
