Miss SA contestant's nationality causes uproar on social media

Miss SA contestant Chidinma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina has been the talk of town after it was revealed that her father is Nigerian. Some social media users believe she should not be allowed to compete in the Miss SA pageant. What are your thoughts?
Chidinma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, one of Miss South Africa's contestants, has been a hot topic on social media after it was revealed that her father is Nigerian.
The 23-year-old was born and bred in Johannesburg and has South African citizenship. Her mother is reportedly Zulu with Mozambican roots.
As a result, some social media users said she is Nigerian and does not qualify to compete in the pageant.
However, speaking to The South African, the Miss SA organisation said the model, who calls herself Chichi on Instagram, has met all the requirements to participate in the pageant.
“All documentation provided by the entrants is screened and vetted. Chidimma is a South African citizen. She has met all the requirements to be a part of the Miss South Africa competition. Her mother is South African (Zulu), and her father is Nigerian,” the organisation told the publication.
Chidinma is not the first contestant to have a parent who is not South African. Former Miss SA, Vanessa Carreira Coutroulis, who was also the second runner-up at the Miss Universe competition, has Portuguese-Angolan parents.
Following the backlash that Chichi received on social media, a fake X account was created. The user called on Africans to unite.
The hate on Nigerians🇳🇬 is so pathetic and uncalled for...The insults I receive on this app is just too much....African's should live in peace and unity!!!
