Mean girls? Selena Gomez quits TikTok amid Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber drama

Selena Gomez is taking a break from social media after a drama-filled few weeks on social media.  She made the decision after defending her best friend, Taylor Swift, on TikTok. 

The 30-year-old shared her thoughts on a video that showed Hailey Bieber seemingly mocking Taylor during an old TV appearance.

Many called Hailey a "mean girl".  Selena took to the comments section to support her bestie. 

"So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game," she wrote.

Selena's comment didn't go unnoticed, especially because Hailey is married to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber.  

There were rumours that Hailey stole Justin from Selena. The 'Baby' singer started dating Hailey shortly after he broke up with Selena. 

Hailey has fiercely denied the claims. 

“I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. I understand how it looks from the outside but I don't want to talk on either one of their behalf," she revealed on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast in 2022. 

Despite denying there is any beef between them, Hailey and Kylie Jenner were recently accused of throwing shade at Selena.  

Kylie shared a screenshot of a FaceTime she had with Hailey. The picture showed a closeup of her eyebrows. 

“This was an accident???" the reality star captioned the image. 

Kylie denied the clip was a dig at Selena who had earlier shared that she accidentally laminated her brows too much. 

Interestingly enough, Selena recently took over Kylie as the most followed woman on Instagram. 

"This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly," Kylie clapped back at the accusations. 

Selena also dismissed the claims, with the 'Lose You To Love Me' hitmaker adding that she is a big Kylie fan.

Kylie might be off the hook, but in the eyes of Selena fans, Hailey is not. Last month, the model shared a clip of herself hanging with Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye. 

"I'm not saying she deserved it, but God's timing is always right," they all lip-synced in the video. 

Social media users thought they were taking a swipe at Selena who was being body-shamed online at the time because of her weight. 

One Selena fan shared a video slamming all the hate she was getting from "disgusting nepo babies".  

"I love you," Selena commented on the woman's post.

But it seems things have become all too much for Selena who has deactivated her TikTok page. While her Instagram page is still active, the actress will be taking a break from all social media platforms.
