Marilyn Manson sues Rachel Wood for defamation following abuse claims
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Singer Marilyn Manson has broken his silence after his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood accused him of abuse.
Evan Rachel Wood shocked the entertainment industry in 2021 when she accused her ex-fiancé Brian Warner, popularly known as Marilyn Manson, of abuse.
Warner has now decided to sue Wood and her current partner Ashley Gore for defamation. According to E! News, the singer filed a complaint in the Los Angeles Supreme Court.
According to the lawsuit, Wood and Gore publicly painted Manson as a rapist and abuser. The musician describes the claims as "a malicious falsehood". Warner says the allegations have affected his music, TV, and film careers.

The lawsuit states that Wood and Gore allegedly committed multiple crimes including impersonating an FBI agent. The suit also accused them of recruiting and pressuring others to spread false allegations about Warner.
"Wood and Gore used that fabricated FBI letter not only to convince others to join their crusade but also to dupe HBO into distributing a one-sided 'documentary' premised on the existence of an entirely fictitious federal investigation," Manson's attorney Howard King told Insider.
"Even though HBO and the producers have been made aware of these serious acts of misconduct, they have thus far chosen to proceed without regard for the facts, but the evidence of wrongdoing by Wood and Gore is irrefutable – and this legal action will hold them to account," King added.
Wood and her partner allegedly also created "a fictitious email account to manufacture purported evidence that Warner was emailing illicit pornography".
"This detailed complaint has been filed to stop a campaign of malicious and unjustified attacks on Brian Warner," said King.
Manson has also taken to Instagram to discredit Wood's allegations against him.
