thug with one blow? Take a self with the perp of course!
A Cape Town man is making headlines around the world after a bizarre encounter with an armed mugger.
Nathan Wood says he was outside a nightclub in Stellenbosch when two men started following him and a friend.
The thug cornered them in an alleyway – one of them was allegedly armed with a knife.
Wood, who reportedly has boxing training, says he hit the man unconscious with one single punch.
Before calling the police he took a selfie with the would-be mugger!
That picture is now making its way around the world, with many people congratulating him for getting the upper hand.
The incident could easily have gone wrong, but Wood is lucky to have escaped with his, all his belongings, and, um, a selfie!
“Looking at the selfie, some people think I look arrogant… this guy went out with intent, with purpose, to rob… At the time, the adrenaline was rushing, but then I was also thinking about the guy’s circumstances and why he is robbing. I dragged him out the street, took his jacket off and put it under his head. I turned him onto his side in the recovery position. I wanted to make sure he was okay. People are fragile, I felt remorse,” he told News24.
